Well-known trademarks have unlimited term of legal protection and can extend to goods dissimilar to those for which they are recognized as well-known. To establish a trademark as well-known, its owner must demonstrate that the mark has been used so intensively that, as of the filing date of the registration application, it has become widely known among consumers in Russia and is now inseparably associated with the owner's goods. A prerequisite for the exclusive right to a well-known trademark is its recognition as such by Rospatent and inclusion in the List of Well-Known Trademarks.
