About the service

"Gray" import refers to genuine products. Only importers who have entered into a contract with the manufacturer or official dealer can import and sell them in Russia. If a trademark is not registered in the TROIS, even genuine products cannot pass through customs without the distributor's permission.

When goods with signs of counterfeiting are found (such as those imported by unauthorized importers), customs authorities halt the clearance process and reach out to the rights holder. During this suspension period, the rights holder can review details about the importation circumstances, the importer, product descriptions, and photos, and even request a sample. If the rights holder confirms that the suspended goods are counterfeit, customs begins an administrative investigation against the importer. This interaction mechanism effectively prevents counterfeit imports and helps identify violators.
